Mission Statement

Get better grades
"Survey says"... students who live on campus do better academically. They take more academic credits, have higher grade-point averages, and graduate at a higher rate. Give yourself a competitive edge. Achieve more here at Rutgers and you'll have a better chance in the job market!

Develop your independence
Live on campus and have the freedom and responsibility of your own space, your own schedule, your own priorities. On-campus living gives you, and your parents, a little more privacy.

Don't pay a fortune
Live on campus and pay a competitive cost for housing and meals. You'll have no extra utility bills or advanced rent security deposit. No expensive trips to the grocery store, and no chasing down roommates for their part of the rent.

Make college life easier
Live on campus and enjoy the convenience of being close to classes, the student center, libraries, computer labs, good places to eat (and lots of them), recreation facilities, and tons of campus events. And, no matter which campus you live on, you're always near a campus bus stop.

Make friends and feel connected
Live on campus and you'll meet more people—guaranteed. Friendships formed during your college years often last a lifetime. You'll feel a greater sense of connection with Rutgers and with the people you know here. Plus, the friends you make will be close by to study and hang out with.

Broaden your horizons
Living on campus will make you a well-rounded person. Studies show on-campus residents meet more diverse people, are exposed to a wider range of ideas and cultures, develop greater artistic interests, develop strong interpersonal skills, and build high self-esteem.

Build leadership skills
Live on campus and you can get involved in activities and organizations such as residence hall events, student government, intramural sports, and campus clubs. Showing leadership experience on your resume will mean a lot to your future boss.

Know what's happening
Live on campus and be "in the know." You'll be tapped into more of what's happening, on campus and off, and be involved in more programs, events, and fun because you'll be right where it's all going on.

Pursue your interests
Live on campus and participate in programs that awaken new interests or nurture the ones you already have. Being involved in programs in music, art, language, and cultural activities enhances your education and your social life.

Be comfortable
Reap the advantages of lively surroundings, security patrols, fire and safety inspections, and landlord contact on-demand. Live on campus and have a comfortable new home away from home.
